Encourage face-to-face conversation: it sounds simple, but in this very technical environment, many Zoomers find that it is not always a viable option. Thus, the company must create these opportunities, encourage them, and applaud them when they occur. This is as foreign to former generations as being called on the carpet in past work environments. This type of conversation was regarded as a waste of time. The “Zoomers Project” is designed to enhance these conversations. Whether it is mentoring a Zoomer or a Zoomer mentoring another generation, these skills can be a game changer for your culture.

Establish Mentor Relationships: A basic human truth we would probably all agree on is that people do business with people they know, like, and trust. And that starts with building relationships in the workplace. Having a program in place that encourages regular relationship building between team members will establish trust and, as an added benefit, grow the soft skills of younger employees in the process, especially if mentors focus, specifically on them.
