It is true that many businesses are transferring from the Traditionalists and older Boomers. Many of these are family businesses and they are running into some significant transition issues. Many of the issues are the heart of why we wrote this book in the first place. Businesses operate on the conventional wisdom, it has worked for us to this point, why change mentality. Another may be to let the new regime deal with the necessary updates to the company. At this point, the transfer of the business can be difficult as well as the recovery after the transfer. As it is business success after a merger or acquisition can be dicey just considering the impact to customers and existing employees. Generational factors can add layers of issues that may bring a business to the brink of failure. It is mission critical to employ a team of expertise to help an organization in the process of passing the torch.
