Are you a small business owner or an entrepreneur? Did you know there is a difference? One is a job, the other is a mindset.
Entrepreneurs can be small business owners. But they can also be employees and managers. They are leaders. They have a vision and know how to empower employees to achieve it.
Entrepreneurs are passionate and driven. They think beyond day-to-day operations and focus on bigger goals. A small business owner with an entrepreneurial mindset has a handle on his business for sure, but he does not spend his days behind a counter, working in his business. Instead he is out working on his business, growing it. Because a true entrepreneur needs to continuously build and grow.
Of course, none of that comes without hard work, but the entrepreneurs among us work in a different way. They are strategic planners, always keeping an eye on the bigger picture. While some small business owners will be content to set up shop and continue in the same way for years, an entrepreneur will likely get restless and start working toward the next step. Either is fine, and both can enjoy successful careers. But it helps to know yourself and set your expectations accordingly.
So which are you? A small business owner, or an entrepreneur?
